Alyssa Mercante is ugly and I bet her pussy stink. Oth Lords of the Fallen did suck absolute ass and I hope everyone who worked on it dies so I’m conflicted…
The new Lords wasn't bad, it was just painfully generic. It didn't do anything overly bad, but it also did very little new to be worth a full price game over a decade after Dark Souls (and all its clones) already did it. The "one free death sends you to the other realm" mechanic was its only true difference and, while good, wasn't game changing enough.
It has nothing that makes it worth playing over just playing Dark Souls again, especially not to the level where the built in randomizers are capable of being fun.
I can respect their minor courting of anti-woke politics and not really backing down on that point regardless. It was clearly a marketing gimmick to re-hype the game up, but its still one step back to normalcy.
It was like the worst parts of every souls game spread out into one full game. It was basically that part in Anor Londo with the archers if it lasted 30 hours.
I can't disagree with that entirely, and perhaps playing too much Souls games over the years has made the frustration of those designs less frustrating. I had more problems with the Swamp area than any of that ridiculously too long rampart zone.
I suppose even the "worst parts" of most Souls games is still pretty average in the overall. Or maybe I've again played too many Souls games and suffered far worse.
