But I heard rape was just about "power"! That's what all my professors say!!
Your professor is technically not wrong.
Women derive their power by the hint of possible sex with them.
Hence why you have women with orbiters, and why they can get most men to do stuff for them: They give the air of a "possibility" to be with them if you do this thing for them.
Obviously, they are flirting, but they use sexual energy as a power.
So, to them, being raped is taking power from them. The rapist was a piece of shit that wanted to get laid and does not care about power.
Which brings up a second point: Women are absolutely incapable of thinking like men, and the few that do end up killing themselves. So, rape = power is 100% fact to them when the reality is not.
That said, actual rapists do need to die in a fire.
