It's what this place likes to call the original KotakuInAction subreddit, before a revolt led to KotakuInAction2 being created, and after THAT got banned from Reddit, led to the creation of Scored, what you're using now.
For the record, KIA2 on reddit never got banned. Its still there. Its basically dead and a shadow of itself but its there.
This place got its kickstart when the "secret rule" and other reddit nonsense was in full force and T_D kindly offered us one of the original founding spots on the site to escape it. Which is why we have a unique name instead of "scored/kia2."
There have also been other sites like Voat and Poal(?) which all didn't work out for various reasons such as shit admins selectively enforcing rules, sound familiar?
When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up.

Right, I couldn't remember if that was the case, it's been too long. Thank you.

Voat died because the owner did not want to pay to run it anymore
