Sinfest is very interesting, if only because the artist is so openly vocal on political issues. He's gone through a woke (gf?) arc, and come out the other side willing to be more based than is palatable to the mass market.
I haven't followed him in years, but this is a good reminder that his work exists.
yeah... I finally finished the other day... it looks like the artist is looking at whatever is popular at the time and pandering to that crowd. You've got the early 2000s screwball comedy phase in the beginning, ala sluggy freelance, then you've got the more serious, but still somewhat silly phase that bleeds into the woke phase from the 2010s, then you've got the maga phase from 2020 to 2023 that sort of bleeds into a 'jews are the cause of everything bad" phase more recently.
that being said, while I certainly enjoyed the maga phase, because of my own biases, he really should have stayed out of politics...even in the maga phase, it's a bit over the top, lmao.
Tatsuya went from edgy 90's to openly "Women are the superior species; the apex of evolution" (and lesbians are the supreme beings, for they have evolved beyond animalistic desire for inferior men), and so naturally became the Champion of Women™, attacking all who didn't bend the knee.
But then he saw his side downgrade his precious lesbians on the ladder and saw them forced to kneel to trans dudes.

just found him recently myself, going through the archives now. found this and I was blown away...
Well, you're forewarned that there's a woke patch in the middle, but he gets over it.
