Middle eastern instability goes waaay further back than the creation of Israel. The Crusades were only successful because of the collapse of the Abbassid Caliphate into infighting. It's a trend amongst Islamic countries throughout history that they expand very rapidly and then fall apart to petty infighting and civil wars. It happened to the Umayyad Caliphate (which is what led to the survival of the Spanish Kingdoms and subsequent reqonquista), The Fatamids, even the Ottomans. The game EUIV even had a mechanic to model this behaviour called the Decadance mechanic where political infighting, zealot uprisings and military coups become inevitable. It's just a staple of Islamic societies that they fall apart. There's lots of reasons for it and some of it cultural, but Polygamy creates a large underclass of disenfranchised fighting aged men who turn to various forms of extremism, literally incels. Inbreeding lowers the IQ drastically. And the religion itself is intolerant and in perpetual schism with itself. Sunnies and Shia's hate eachother with a passion. And in turn they hate any other religion, and Islam is an invading force in every country it resides except for those in the Arabian peninsula, so there's a vast ethnic and cultural difference in those countries that further intensifies the problem. Islamic countries have always been and will always be a shitshow basically.
