"Reducing the amount of people here will increase the cost of food" Has... this lady ever studied introduction to economics 101? The demand goes down, so... price goes up in her mind? Like, I get that she's a leftist who is implying that the USA needs slaves to survive, that's the Left from their inception, she's saying that slaves pick US fruit and she likes the slaves doing slave stuff because slavery is awesome to her, but... Don't know about you, but most of my food is either farm-direct from local farmers when I can swing it (who hire college kids if they need a spare hand, but machinery does most of the work), or it's imported from Mexico (which would get the tariff thing, but that is aside from her point that slaves are needed to keep food prices down).
She then goes into the wars in Isreal and Ukraine, which were avoided under Trump 1.0 and only brought to bear under Biden, then the moment he was elected both began acting like their war was soon to be ending when it was Trump again... She's completely blinded by TDS.
And that is the rub. Most of the people you see complaining about how much this will affect farming are cheapskate sacks of shit who never invested in the equipment to make their operations more effective and then made up for it with cheap slave-like labor.
I remember back in Trump 1.0 there was a farmer from Idaho who got national news attention because he was talking about how he had had a large part of a crop of asparagus rot in the field because he didnt have enough workers to pick it and the Media at it up and ran with it. What got less traction in the Media was the farmers who came out after the fact and pointed out that it was very much a him problem, because they had all mechanized their operations and gotten their harvest in with time to spare while he was scrambling to find people willing to work for minimum wage (or less) instead of investing in machines, then blaming everyone else for his problem.
And I guarantee you there are many such cases across the board.
