Idk about Argentina, but in Guatemala, femicide was a serious problem where men would murder women disproportionately to other men, so the laws were put in place to harshen the penalty for those who killed women. Maybe it’s the same in Argentina, idk. Any penalty that pushes murder closer to the death penalty is fine by me.
It is disproportionate, that's for sure: Women are hardly ever killed. That's probably not the point you were trying to make, but they're a privileged class both in legal protection, and in criminal aggression.
