Real estate agents are glorified tard wranglers. They exist to make sure their clients sign all the paperwork, show up to appointments, and don't do anything stupid. They don't price anything aside from their own commissions, of which you can haggle with them regardless.
If housing is "too expensive", it's either a) people who will gladly pay list price, or b) the agent didn't do his job showing comps or setting expectations and let the client get away with it because "I know what I got" (which you probably don't want this guy's house anyway with that attitude).
Their solution was to outlaw commissions and "put the real estate agents on salary".
You want Pajeet agents? That's how you get Pajeet agents.
I saw an unironic post the other day complaining that housing was too expensive because of greedy realtors.

It was just so leftist-coded.
"The economy is doing things I don't like. The government should ban private industry and treat everyone like a civil servant."
Like who the fuck do they actually think is going to be paying the salary?
A lot of realtors are independent contractors/small businesses.
Even the ones who work for a bigger brand are in a "eat what you kill" environment.
Do they expect homebuyers to be fronting the weekly salary of their realtor until they find you/sell your house?
