Anyone that hates you for that opinion has no heart
Ranma 1/2 is still the funniest most lovable manga I've ever read. Don't care that the plot doesn't advance for like 20 volumes, I just love spending time with the characters
indeed. I feel like it's one of those manga that's character of the week. the plot is there, but it's more of a backdrop than the main focus. Takahashi's characters are probably her greatest strength. she's brilliant at making quirky, interesting characters that you can't help but fall in love with, even when they're unrepentent perverts, lmao.
haven't seen it yet. I have mixed feelings anytime a remake is made, though considering it was never finished, because kitty went bellyup it could be a good thing., but I'm hoping "localizers" didn't assrape the translation...
I've seen the remake. I miss nipples, unironically. Ranma was at a time when anime could even show what was in the manga, now you cannot show any nipples whatsoever. That is probably my biggest gripe with it. Other than that seems faithful enough, just not doing too much different, original still seems better in my eyes.
fair. honestly, I miss Kitty in general, they adapted most of takahashi's work up until that point, and while they used an older style of animation (less digital touchup), it's one I happened to enjoy.
...plus they didn't butcher kagome higurashi's bangs in the promos for their version, lol.
Ranma is a great story, bogged down by endless filler and a terrible ending. Which is a consistent problem with Takahashi's works.
Ryoga might be one of the best characters in any of these harem/comedy series despite being quite one note for most of the run time. The entire two parter with the Shishi Hokudon is peak among peak.
Also Ukyo best waifu, don't even @ me Shampoofags.
...prepare to rip into me, but I think my personal favorite has to be Ranma 1/2 by Rumiko Takahashi, who is also my favorite author.
I will now accept whatever deserved hate comes my way, lmao.

Perfectly valid opinion. What's your take on the remake? I know both the original and the remake.

I think takahashi likes open endings, where things aren't entirely resolved, but the characters move forward into the future regardless.
you might like maison ikkoku better, though, lol
