I'm no expert on the subject and I know it's most likely bullshit because it reeks of bullshit, but I think things like ZPE and "Cold Fusion" explicitly bypass the free energy trope. You're drawing energy out from somewhere so there's no over-unity. It's like drilling into an oil well. Anyway if it were real the deep state / council of 300 / majestic12 / men in black / aliens* have been doing a surprisingly good job of hiding it for decades and probably for good reason because you could blow up the planet with that shit.

You can't "draw energy freely". The words themselves are a contradiction. You would have work to get the energy. That work is literally a change in energy.
As for ZPE, the way any of this is being described to me doesn't make sense. That's just the lowest energy state of a quantized object. It's just the literal lowest state of energy. Energy isn't stored there, it's just the lowest amount of energy the object can have. It's not drilling oil from a well, it's claiming that you can use the fuel in your car when it's parked tonight to drive longer right now. It doesn't make any sense.
