The media was given their marching orders by their handlers at the CIA to ramp up the fear mongering to the max setting, and politicians were eager to play along in order to hurt Trump.
They played it down as "just the flu" during the second impeachment hearings. Once they failed to remove Trump from office via peachments, they flipped a switch and suddenly Covid wasn't "just the flu", it was a deadly disease that killed 3% of people who caught it.
They pushed the 3% number for roughly two weeks before quietly admitting it was much lower, but by then it didn't matter.
So why weren't they given marching orders the other times they've tried this play over the years? There's more to this puzzle.
Because Trump wasn't in office then
