Within 24 hours, I have discovered that the divide between most of the dissident right and the infamous puritan conservative faction that had existed long before the emergence of the dissident right is becoming significantly more pronounced and aggressive. Said faction is frequently being referred to [cannot find term] as the "woke right".
Puritan conservatives existed for a long time and have been blamed for inflicting SEVERE damage upon the right in general that took the regressive left getting exposed to fix, and grudges with these morons are flaring up again because they are bitching about sexy women in media by flat out calling it/negatively comparing it to pornography, with said pearl clutching angering people by drawing negative parallels to the regressive left's promotion of the extremist drivel known as objectification theory.
Part of this is due to one of those modern dilemmas that hasn't been figured out yet. Hot girls in games used to be more artistic and less defined, somewhat owing to tech limitations. Mai Shiranui in KOF '94 had bouncing boobs, but that's a little different than the camera crowding a girl's fat ass in 4K. In the context of a mass audience, one of those is more ignorable.
Baldur's Gate has obviously pushed the envelope on this, normalizing bearly disguised bestiality and other perversions. (I would say TLOU2 also pushed the envelope with its dry humping homo scene, but I'm not so sure about that for reasons we all know.)
People here will probably hate this take, but I think it's a real thing. DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball is kind of tame by today's standards. The next battleground will not be the thong, but the raytracing on a girl's cornhole behind it.
Why do you do this? I mean if you're lumping them together as instigators of lust from a religious moralistic perspective that's understandable, but that shouldn't be political. You'll never get most voters to agree on that.
It's part of the same issue insofar as where people draw the line in sexual content.
Does this forum consider BG3 sex scenes to be in bad taste or no? I forgot.
This forum consists of a bunch of individuals, some of whom probably fall on either side and some with no opinion.
When it came to Baldur's Gate 3, the "queer coded" bullshit and the fact extreme content such as feral was inserted into an existing IP was the issue.
BG3 would have gotten away with the feral content if it was not connected to D&D including Baldur's Gate.
