solidifies his legacy as corrupt. major win for trump I'd say. it's such a simple and obvious thing to point to. this is the kind of thing that people remember and care about because it's such an obvious double standard and such a relatable situation. unlike vague legal dealings hunter biden was guilty of the kinds of crimes average people go to prison for, and he was exempted by his own father. it's the most blatant and open corruption.
Trump should un-pardon him, or use this as precedent to pardon tens of thousands of "right wingers including Giuliani...
No. Leave the pardon.
Now that he can no longer be convicted for the crimes he committed, he is no longer legally allowed to plead the 5th. Congress can call him to testify about every crime he was involved in, and if he refuses to talk or lies, he can be held in contemp of congress or guilty of perjury, which are two offenses for which he can still be sent to prison.
His shield is not as impervious as he thinks. It could also condemn several others, including Joe himself.
I'm not sure how valuable it is to prosecute a man who is 80-something years old with no political future, who is completely discredited already. What opponents of DJT didn't realize is that trying to prosecute someone often redounds to his advantage, and I hope the GOP doesn't make that same mistake.
I do support getting all the corruption on the record at least, and perhaps DJT pardoning Senile Joe.
He was just an example. He is well known for having directly benefited from Hunter's dealings in Ukraine and China, in exchange for favours from the US government. There is a LOT that Hunter could say about Joe's crimes.
But he is far from being the only person that Hunter could incriminate, were he to answer questions honestly.
