Rather misleading, if still not a great sign. Not saying I agree with the statement, but here's what he said:

He elaborated, “I’ve been there. I remember my first time on Assassin’s creed like it was July and the game was shipping in October. I was like, ‘There’s now way this thing ends up shipping. Oh! 91 Metacritic. Oh, okay, this is good.’ So I was wrong because it’s not good until it is.”

Honestly pretty moronic to say that, since you know it's going to get taken out of context like this. Why on Earth would you say "it's the worst thing they've ever seen" publicly, before the game launches?!

Also...oooof.

He said, “One of the things that I’ve noticed since the pandemic is that we have a lot of juniors in our teams. … Probably half the team that’s building Assassin’s Creed is building a game for the first time.”

You're a major studio, why the actual living fuck would you do such a thing?

Kind of funny. Still out of context, but one way to read this is, the devs think it's bad in its current form, but they are fucking clueless because they have no experience...but are going to make it into a good game. Yeah, sure...
