Nothing happened, it's always been like that. /r/stupidpol's mods are all either orthodox Marxists (the kind who actually believe that all answers to all problems can be found in "theory"), or exiled liberals who can't come to terms with their political foundations being broken. They're not actually opposed to idpol, they're just opposed to being on the outside, and idpol was the weapon used against them. They've allowed a wide range of political positions in their subreddit because it's the only way they could actually populate the sub (and therefore fulfil the leftist janny impulse), but they'll never let it get too far away from them for fear of losing control. Humiliation, random bannings, and comment filters are how they achieve that.
Reminds me of when I once stumbled across r/ShitLiberalsSay. For a second I thought it was a conservative sub but nope, just commies patting themselves on the back for being even more left than other leftists. One of my favorite comments I saw was "The fall of the Berlin wall was a tragedy...for the east side of Berlin."
It’s the same as r/christianity being a subreddit where Christianity is openly mocked, has more political discussions about Trump than r/politics, modded by atheists and trannies and censors any actual biblical discussion.
It’s controlled by the globalists to push their narrative.
Even if you go to r/TrueChristian, all the r/Christanity mods post there too to “keep the discussion in check”
Same deal as the "leftypol" people from the start of 8chan. A bunch of troons that saw their thing was unpopular and wanted to rebrand as cool and edgy without changing anything at all.
It's reddit. There's your answer.

Never really got into the habit of posting there, because of the typical 'too many users makes them disposable' mantra of mods.
Looks like it devolved into yet another trash sub on Reddit with too many rules and not enough common sense.
All subfactions of leftists always revert to the mean if they're pushed.
Bots.
even extreme leftoids think identity politics are unproductive.
They just happen to be groups of marxists who believe that.
