This has been true, but I guess it makes this particularly obvious. The E-type was long-front because there was a giant inline engine in the bay. They don't make those now.
Thirdly, just market stuff. The market is now whoever has 800 or 1000 or more dollars a month and still thinks a Jaguar is a cool idea.
