What I found most interesting though is how the settlement of America was a actually more of an organic process and wasn't really coordinated. Nobody was truly able to exert any sort of control over it. The colonial governments and authorities couldn't control the settlers and the tribal leaders couldn't control their own people either. Everyone was caught in a spiral of violent migration that nobody was able to stop. It had to run its course.
