If hitler hadn't been a deluded psychotic faggot, and had actually let his generals run the war, he might have actually won. Getting rid of Guderian was a colossal fuckup. And of course he disgusted an actual german nationalist, Rommel, so badly that Rommel tried to kill him, IIRC.
I’ll go further. The nazis were gay socialist occultists obsessed with an environmentalist theory that made no sense but which posited a zero-sun and contracting world economy, thereby pushing any nationalist to war, it’s them or us under their shit ideas. War was inevitable.
But the war were entirely unnecessary in the first place. Except against France (good riddance) and the ussr in the long run. Not only could they be won by the generals, the bigger war could have been won more broadly by not starting unnecessary shit.
Attacking Russia when they did wasn’t as insane as is commonly posited though. Russia was building up and it was only going to become more and more difficult each day they waited. Once in that position they were in, the whole Russia thing being insane is a bit overblown.

Not exactly. The generals under-estimated the capability of the German Army early on, and Hitler was actually right to be as ambitious as he was. There was a ton of resistance from the German military about invading France. They didn't think they'd win the war, and they didn't understand how bad the military in France had gotten.
Both the military and the government pretended that they had preformed better against the French, Dutch, and Polish than they really did, and when they stormed into Russia, they over-estimated their capabilities.
The Generals were right at one very specific point: when the war was lost. The military had long since figured out that the war was unwinnable by 1944. Frankly, there were a lot of generals that thought the war might not have been winnable before the Normandy invasion. That's the thing that Hitler wouldn't accept.
