The AFL and UAW prove that to be completely and utterly false. Detroit was a Democratic City in the 1870's, and then during the Progressive Era became a Progressive Republican city. Then during the 30's it went back to being a Progressive Democratic city, where it sits to this very day.
Southern black migration into Detroit would have caused white flight and skyrocketing crime rates in the 20's, when Detroit wasn't anywhere near it's peak, nor most violent.
Your narrative just doesn't mesh with what happened.

Let me help you, between 1919 and 1962 Detroit had 14 Republican mayors and 3 democrat mayors, lest than 1 a decade and non in a row. It went democrat officially in 1962 when the white flight was in full effect. Detroit saw 10% of its population leave after the mass influx of black immigrants from the south. Again, reality doesn’t support your narrative.
So were those Goldwater Republicans, or... maybe they were strong trade unionist conservatives? And how long after "the mass influx of black immigrants from the south" did whites leave? It's wasn't 1962. That influx started arriving, again, in the 20's.

That influx arrived between 1940-60, only 100k came between 1910-1930, they redlined them to a specific area called Black bottom, and in 1940 Detroit was 91% white. The majority of the black immigrants came between 1940-1960 when the black population when from 10-30 percent. White people started leaving in droves starting in 1950, still with heavy Republican mayors. Again your pseudo reality doesn’t match what actually happened.
