I'm not even surprised this is the "defence" they're teaching. It's utterly stupid, and you'd think doctors would know about the dangers of knife wounds and would therefore try to keep their wrists away from a blade unlike the guy in this video that's making it incredibly easy to get his wrists slashed.
Better a cut to the wrist than getting stabbed in the torso, which is exactly what would happen if the guy with the knife simply grabbed the slow-moving lab coat and yanked it towards himself.

Seriously, Coat Man is basically waving a convenient distance closer at his assailant. This is the absolute worst thing you could do.
