You put an insane amount of work into these posts, but I have also noticed that engagement on them is pretty low most of the time. I think it is because there is an overwhelming amount of info here, and not everybody is going to read all of it.
Some of these would be great topics to discuss all on their own. Would you consider cherry picking your links for dedicated posts in the future? It would be a huge improvement to the sub to have more than a handful of posts each day. Most of the time, this place is pretty dead.
Seconded, but it would be a shame to lose the whole list and I believe he is doing this for himself too. I suggest posting a few of the best each day, but in one of them include the whole list as an "other/related stories" section.
You're seeing my conundrum. Yes, it's for me as well. I basically overwhelmed my thesis committee for my masters.
Since so many have different interests here, it's hard to narrow it down. I've done a few 'articles' using links but that doesn't always mean I have a specific narrowed opinion right now.
I guess I should do some kind of blog and post there, but it's a lot of effort.
What I've basically decided is the reader can find what they want, and repost that link or series of links to have that conversation. We get more engagement. I'm just the info dumper.
Maybe you can groups and headline sections by theme?
I.e reviews/ Sony biz/Nintendo biz/capcom biz/fails/indie/successes/etc?
You will note that I have done this already.
I think it's great as is. I welcome the info overload and accept that I can't give an equal amount of attention to each link. Anything I don't get to read which might have interested me, that's my failing of discernment or dedication.
I sympathise with those who are worried that we're losing good discussion points in the overload... but isn't that just life itself.
