No surprise. News aggregator sites like msn or yahoo do the same. I notice that stuff trending on google works that way. Or if I see a republican trending it’s usually because they have something negative to say about Trump
Last week a young girl went on AITA. She was told she was being abused, and needed to get out right away. Multiple news sites picked it up before the girl even got out of the situation. Either they're all heartless morons, or it's AI because human eyes would have seen that was not a situation that should have gone viral.
I've seen others complain about those auto-scraper niche-specific 'news' websites that directly lift their material from Reddit threads. One of the subs got so pissed off by it that they started spiking popular threads, expecting an auto-scraper to turn it into an article, and they actually succeeded. It's all automated.
The private subreddits, and 18+ threads that can't be read without the native app ( which I'm never downloading) really speaks volumes. There's already covid campaigns on reddit, they didn't even update their materials. It's all known bullshit.

I doubt lefty propaganda mills like TheRoot or Daily Beast could subsist without MSN and Yahoo! propping them up.
Such a great point. Also business insider used to be a business news source but it’s just anti trump
Ars technica used to have dozens of articles a day. Now one is a good day. Many sites killed themselves.
Plus it used to be a decent tech site and then it turned into anti trump stuff
