That said, the article is kind of weird. It goes on and on about a relatively small amount of luxury gifts that sound inflated. Then they casually mention "oh yea he also allegedly stole $10M in public funds" without ever elaborating.
The guy is a scumbag for other reasons but calling this a crime is ridiculous. Real "they can get you six ways to sunday" material, unless there is some evidence he did something in return for the gifts. I have no idea why Turkey cares so much about the mayor of New York anyway.
