Things were already detoriating under Shinzo abe. He's legit like the Trump of Japan. As in the only thing he did was slow down the rot, but things still continued to rot. .. Nothing actually got better. There's a reason why the far right in Japan didn't actually like Shinzo abe much.
. Compare 2016 (when Trump started presidency) to 2020. Did anything actually get better.? it didn't did it? LGBT shit got worse, black worship culture got worse.

Going off of what CensoredSpeech said, I would say that Japan was cooked before Abe even became PM. They haven't recovered from their cultural decay that was implanted post-WWII and further rotted since the 90s.
Killing Abe was confirmation that there is no peaceful turnaround from the external puppetry
