i remember seeing a trailer about it a few years ago and i was interested in it but i forgot the name of it. I remember it had a unique artstyle. i remember people comparing it to Demon slayer what with an older brother figure protecting a younger sister figure story

I'm tempted to troll you by saying Inu Yasha but honestly I have no idea. I follow anime fairly closely but I don't think I've even seen ads for something like that.
Ok so i finally found what i was looking for for so long. It was so hard to find . it was Kijin Gentoushou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw098H8oELk
Let me know if it's any good.
Samurai Jack?
No it wasn't Samurai Jack. . And also Samurai Jack is a cartoon not an anime

Are you able to narrow the time frame a bit? Like do you remember seeing trailers for something else around the same time?
OMG never mind I found it. I looked for it for so long and i actually found it . Its Kijin Gentoushou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw098H8oELk
That's good as search engines were useless, I was forced onto year lists lol
i was starting to doubt my own memories cause i couldn't find it and no one seem to have heard of it when i asked and search engine lists never seemed to have anything about it. I thought i was going crazy cause i was SURE i remembered a trailer about it. Im glad i wasn't imagining things.
its a recent anime . i remember seeing the trailer announcing it was in production maybe 2-5 years ago ?
I know you got your answer, but...
That's a pretty accurate description of Sakunoshin's story from Hyper Police.
Anachronistic samurai anime with a unique art style made me think of Drifters. It's Hellsings dark-isekai cousin from yesteryear.
Historic greats get snapped up at the moment of their deaths and enlisted to fight in a fantasy world war. Shimazu Toyohisa, Oda Nobunaga, Butch Cassidy and Hannibal to name a few. Fighting to save elves from Hitler (unironically).
