sure bro, just ignore the fact that they refused to pay sweet baby 7 million for “consulting fees” and than had to endure made up hit piece after hit piece trying to cancel the devs. take out the chinese audience and you still have an incredibly successful game. it’s a success by every measure and the woke faggots tried to cancel this game and failed miserably
Refusing extortion rackets doesn't just magically give you millions upon millions of players. If it did DARQ wouldn't be a niche game you've never heard of and Hogwarts Legacy (a game with an existing massive IP behind it compared to this brand new one) would have tripled its player count.
I'm happy for their success, and hopefully its a good game as I generally end up playing all soulslike or action games eventually when their price drops, but you need to, as you said, take the Chinese audience out to actually compare its success in context.
than take out the chinese audience in every game as well, let’s say for the sake of arguement 80 percent of the players are chinese, 20 percent of 2.5 million is still 500,000 players still a huge success and their attempts at canceling the devs after they refused sweet baby’s consulting failed
Its a AAA game made in China, about the story that the Chinese love like crack, and has actual marketing behind it.
Its success isn't really indicative of anything other than there are a lot of Chinese people.
