Genshin Impact will be releasing a new expansion soon and some of the themes are apparently borrowed from Aztecs. Leftist activists then went on a rampage complaining that the new playable characters are "too White".
The fucking irony is that there are several English VAs that are non-White, yet they have no issues voicing "White" characters.
As I understand it, there’s a decent chance that the ancient Egyptians—or at least the pharaohs and ruling class—were significantly lighter than the modern day Egyptians. Somehow, I doubt that’s the objection the woke were raising though, right?
The complaints of the woke were "there's too many Chinese-coded people in this Chinese game. Why isn't the Chinese phone game about appeasing Chinese audiences more about Africa?!"
So for once a game studio tried going outside the box even a little bit and they immediately got attacked by the usual twitter tourists over it? It really is no wonder they go so bland constantly which I'm somewhat sympathetic to but at the same time game devs need to grow some balls and tell all these leftist contractors because that's what they are to fuck off.
The studios that have nothing but DEI hires in them can never be redeemed but any non-english studios should be looking to distance themselves from these lot fast.

Reminds me of that time someone complained that Rami Malek was playing some ancient Egyptian.
Just one problem.
Rami Malek IS EGYPTIAN.
