It's a shame the creator died leaving High School of the Dead unfinished, similar to what happened with RWBY only fortunately the former only got one season whereas the latter was used as skinsuit for less talented hacks.
There was a considerable dip in the quality of the writing and fight choreography, yes, but I'd argue that RWBY was never rendered unwatchable by coomunist agitprop insertion, despite the fanbase constantly begging for more blatant faggy shipping, etc...
Edit: But yeah, pour one out for Monty. 'Routine tonsillectomy -> hospital-tier infection -> dead in your 20s' is humblingly tragic.
RWBY's particular brand of shit is of the vacuous female narcissism variety. It's not propaganda because RT is too batshit to realize they're batshit, and it's reflected in their writing. They treat their female characters like they're too pure and righteous for the world, but what they've actually written are idiotic psychopaths, and they can't even see it. It's just their psychology being played out by digital puppets.
Monty wouldn't have been able to fix it. He was a midwit cosmopolitan progressive with a talent in ersatz animation systems. RWBY was a novel fusion mostly of western and fantasy themes. He had a spark of inspiration that created it, but he could not have been less qualified to bring it to life. And it shows, most of all in its suicidal third season, which he had worked on long enough to have some responsibility for.

Counterpoint: Monty was a good guy with empathy for other people, so it would've been impossible for his characters to treat other people like trash.
