Essentially, what causes a lot of people to choose their political side isn't introspection or analysis, but a combination of emotional factors.

You shouldn't undersell the extreme power of contrarianism. That runs underneath an absurdly large amount of politics that people hold.

For example, not everyone on the Left was pro-tranny or pro-Islam (Feminism was loudly not so for decades). But the Right was becoming vocally anti-tranny and anti-Islam, so now they had to dive face first into being so until the point where it doesn't make a single iota of sense (hence TERFs getting born for being slightly less willing to go along).

On the flip side, the Right should be extremely anti-corporation and anti-cop in the current way they function. But because the Left is anti-corp and ACAB, the Right twists itself into "corporations abusing their employees for minuscule profit gains" and "support the Blue who enforce the Left's oppression on you" being the correct choice.

In both these examples, they will say dozens of reasons why they came to these beliefs and they probably do infact hold those pieces now. But they were post-hoc and they would have likely not believed any of it to begin with if they weren't trying to diametrically oppose their "enemies." They 100% worked backwards to justify them believing in it, because admitting they did so in an emotional kneejerk response would make them feel as pathetic as it is.

Not that any of these beliefs have to be that way. You can 100% logically come to them (even the Leftie ones if you accept their version of reality like a retard). But for most people that does not seem to be that way.

Its also why you should always be wary of emotional crusades on "your side." Our Elites know how these things work and are more than happy to stir them up and exploit them to get their agenda progressed further. They know we will weaken ourselves fighting over a nothing battle defending a degenerate or monster, leaving the field wide open for them to just walk in and do so much worse. And they will make their useful Leftie idiots believe in something just to get you riled up to be the opposite of that.

Its why the current schism in the Right on things like Porn or Anime/Loli is so dangerous. Not because those things are good or should be are popular as they are, but because literally any move we make to restrict it will benefit people with bad intentions long before it helps society in the slightest.
