It's just a mediocre expansion. They had no idea where to go after Endwalker wrapped everything up with a bow. The character is somewhat annoying. I liked her at first, but she gets tedious. You never get a break because she's with you almost constantly.
What you see happening in OP are the same kind of pathetic shills who still get excited for Star Wars when it's beyond bad. They need to find anything to deflect criticism because liking $MEDIA_PROPERTY is their identity.
95% of players don't give a shit about voice actors at all unless they're bad at their job or are a attention whore like Rial/Marchi who force themselves to the forefront of all conversations.
It's just not a very good or engaging story this time. That was my opinion BEFORE the psychotic twitter defense squad brought this information about the English VA to my attention and it's still my opinion after.
And why are you using the English voices in the first place?
Edit: As it's pointed out elsewhere, the character is at the bottom of JP popularity as well and any VA issues don't apply outside of EN. It's just a bad story with bad characterization.
The other talking point is that you're not allowed to compare this latest expansion to Stormblood-- an earlier ff14 expansion where another strong female character (Lyse) got shoved into the spotlight to the detriment of the story.
Wuk Lamat's character arc is better than Lyse's, mirroring a journey from idealism to leadership, but she's also pushed so hard that it backfires. The heel among the rival leadership candidates (Bakool Ja Ja) and a bee-themed raid boss (Honey B. Lovely) are more popular. (Mostly because rule 34.)
Even the people screaming transphobia would be hard pressed to argue it was better than EW, ShB, or HW. That leaves the dreaded Stormblood comparison, which I think Dawntrail is better than-- but not by much. It's mostly the polish in production and the consistent mechanics that let Dawntrail win out over Stormblood.
At least Lyse had some history with the WoL and scions. Wuk just shows up and goes, "I heard you're strong, want to help me succeed a throne on the other side of the star?"
Besides, Stormblood had much better new characters. Bakool Ja Ja's got a an arc but Dawntrail doesn't have anyone as likable as Sadu/Magnai, Gosetsu, or Hien and Yugiri. Stormblood had better villains too, even if Zenos ended up overstaying his welcome IMHO.
I don't think DT is awful, but it has the presence of a filler arc whereas SB at least progressed the Garlean Empire plotline... but that's not really a fair comparison.

Yeah, I've definitely been made aware of her at this point.
