Honestly it seems to already be becoming the case. I'm genuinely shocked at how often I'll look at a Steam game and see it has a demo. Double so how many let you just carry over progress from it.
Indies especially are embracing it these days, making demo integration into the storefront so easy and prominent has been one of the best things steam has done lately for consumers.
I'm sure Lethn isn't the only game dev who recognizes how many hacks are out there shitting out garbage games. If they know their shit they'd be fools not to go out of their way to demonstrate they made a real game instead of some retard's first unity project pinned on the storefront like a crayon drawing on a fridge. The demos are the only thing that has got me to give a chance to, and buy, any hidden gems these last few years.
