Frankly, that's a damned sight better than "I don't really pay attention to politics."

It's the same people, with the same agenda, doing the same horrible things that it was 30 years ago; but now more people realize what's happening.

The Clintons have been sex trafficking children from Hati and assassinating political enemies, and Bill literally raped at least one woman. Even if it has to be a fucking sports thing, by god, I'll still support the "stop the sex traffickers" team.

The "sports mentality" in politics is down wind to "I don't pay attention" and arguably worse imo. More than a few NPC acquaintances only care about "beating other team" not any of the actual issues or people involved. "It was bad for the Dems to run Biden because he's bad for the party", never that the party itself is the problem.

You've got it backwards. Apathy is much worse than zealotry when it comes to politics because it means that there is no mechanism within an apathetic electorate to cause change. Zealotry can only work for so long, so it does have to end and/or become more refined before you get burnout. But burnout is effecting the Left more than the right.
