This is absolutely the single best possible fucking pick he could have made. I didn't think he'd do it because it would be too good of a pick. He's shit at picking people, and he ended up picking the single fucking best one.
JD Vance is genuinely interested in helping the American poor, white, working class; and is the author of Hillbilly Elegy. He is a staunch populist conservative, anti-war, anti-censorship, anti-globalist, anti-transgenderism, anti-tech monopoly.
He's not a libertarian, but he's fucking our guy.
Why did he compare Trump to Hitler? That would make more sense if he were a libertarian. A guy above said he supported Hillary.
I don't know, and frankly, I don't give a shit because I have enough evidence to suggest to me that that opinion has long since been discarded.
I voted for Hillary in 2016 because I didn't think Trump was a genuine candidate, and would end up being a bumbling moron. I was completely fucking wrong. And he's the best president I had in my entire life time. Fucking Sargon was right, if Hillary had won, we would have had a full-scale war with Russia and a possible nuclear exchange. I thought that was cooky nonsense at the time. Now I realize the reason we didn't have a nuclear exchange yet is because they don't have the political capital for it. They would have done it! They still want to!
I've said this before, but it was NPR's coverage of him that normalized me away from the political Left because it was so bad I couldn't tolerate the cognitive dissonance. It takes time to unlearn the programing.
Yeah he probably said things that were disagreeable to where he is now, but he figured it out. That's assuming any of that is true, which I don't know that it is.
That's fair, especially this part. I didn't see video of all that myself, just going by what other people are claiming. That said, I give far greater leeway to a rando like you changing their political stances than I do to politicians. I barely consider them human. I tend to agree with Antonio that they only ever do what's expedient and is currently being demanded by their employers. In that sense, Vance reminds me of Cruz. They both literally "grew the beard" and became Trumpian. I suppose to the extent it means he now votes our way because he knows he has to then that's good enough, but I'd keep an eye on him. I won't pretend he has any personal convictions or wouldn't hesitate to change his stripes when the wind blows the other way.
Without a beard, he looks way to young.
Some people just need beards because their face is too puffy and round. Beards help men have the illusion of a chad chin.
