I'm guessing they want to ban him rather than have him just leave before they can do anything about it.

Canada does not have free speech, and I would warn anyone that if they go there and speak publicly they run a high risk of being arrested. You (probably) wouldn't go into China and start some shit. I would avoid Canada as well. Obviously, Brits and Canada have their own thing that doesn't involve me; I'm just sayin.
