Alex Jones has said so many things that are clearly just bullshit and has made his money exploiting feebleminded people with his shenanigans
Alex Jones has said a few things that were bang-on-the-nose and has helped increase a cynical scepticism among some people who would otherwise have dismissed everything he has said as bullshit.
He's committed no crimes which would send him to jail and has expressed his first amendment rights in a capitalist situation to allow for making money from speaking his mind.
He did cause an excessive amount of undue stress to the families of victims and that comes with the price of being sued. He has enough of a following to start from scratch and build that audience back up and continue in some form or other.
His being silenced completely gives enough precedence to stop others, who can't encourage an audience to follow them, from taking the risks he has taken - this is vehemently wrong.
He's pissed off somebody powerful but what they are punishing him for is also punishing others to stop them from expressing themselves which goes against their first amendment rights.
It's a tough battle. Sue someone into oblivion because they are a dick - sure.
Stop others from being a dick because they might say something that you don't like - nope!
As I've said, he'll recover in some shape or form. But little Billy who thinks that maybe the Democrats have a questionable history of losing receipts in important areas or lanky Sally who think that the Republicans always let the same bidders get contracts when they never finish to the proper quality assurance standards won't get to say their piece because they might upset the applecart in a free speech democratic society.
Jones has been more right than he has been wrong. More to the point, when he is wrong he is usually exploring a line of thought out loud on air.
With the Sandy Hook thing he was exploring the idea that it might be a hoax. On air, he reviewed the facts at his disposal and concluded that it wasn't a hoax, but opportunists were making the most of it to push their agenda.
Which was exactly what was happening. Jones never named any particular people as crisis actors; he spent vastly more time talking about the genuine tragedy.
If you are so fucking sure that he has smooth-brain takes, name a few. Was it the Gay Frogs? Or what?
In your post you come across as a massive, authoritarian faggot. You are happy to use the weight of law and the men with guns that it commands to silence people you don't like; just as long as it is the right people. I guess you see yourself as the person in charge?
I'm torn on this one.
