You had me excited there for a second. as it stands, it sounds like this vote has as much weight as the State of Jefferson.
Didn't a certain Louisiana City "secede" from Baton Rouge?
Kind of, yes, but not really.
The basic gist of that kerfuffle boiled down to the area wanting to have their own schools and not send their kids to the shitholes in Baton Rogue to be abused by feral blacks.
Baton Rogue basically said 'hah hah fuck no you're not a city get fucked and be a good little pay pig'.
The area basically replied 'WELL THEN' and started off the entire process of turning an unincorporated area into it's own city.
Cue alot of legal screaming because, all of a sudden, this area was really fucking important FOr sOme reaSON(money), several rounds of voting, legal challenges, and here we are now.
For Oregon, it's not like a portion of a previous state getting turned into it's own area isn't unprecedented(West Virginia), but that required, well, an active shooting war.
