As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a big fan of the pre Disney Star Wars Expanded Universe books and comics. I find it interesting they wanted nothing to do with the EU and thought it was smart to alienate myself and all the other fans who faithfully bought the books and spent time in forums, but they seem to keep mining it for content and even more interesting they don’t want to turn their crappy High Republic into a tv series.
Of course we could play a drinking game for when we hear “updated for modern audiences”, “i never played KOTOR”, or showcase the diverse cast
I can already see my leftist friends that consider themselves "geeks" suddenly pretending they know about KOTOR and educating me on why the show is good and I'm just a bigot.
They're the types that buy all the new merch. They went thru little groot phase and they seem still stuck in baby yoda at the moment.
So they are Wikipedia experts? You see that with comics
They get a few snarky comments from reddit or imgur and then they repeat those.
Got really heated on SW, they were so used of the online consensus that all who dislike the Disney trilogy are bigots that it just made me lose my cool. You can tell they did not like it, not really but they have to like it or they are evil.
edit: And they don't care about SW at all. Not once did they look in to the EU or any lore outside the movies they've seen once and not even sure if they've seen all of them.
It'd shifted fully now too on the EU. I read an article a couple days ago where the premise was unapologetic "I'm a star wars fan who never liked any of the EU because it sucked so I'm glad Disney swept out the debris and started really CREATING"
