Sort of. She's just a protestor for hire, at this point.
I've met Greta. She has graduated from "this is my whole cause and I will die if you don't stop it" to "I will protest for/against whatever is trendy right now".
But I also don't agree that protesting against/blaming the Israeli performer helps in any way. It just looks like a massive self-own.
Is it hypocritical that Israel is there, and Russia/Belarus aren't? Sure, but blaming the artist who has nothing to do with any of it achieves absolutely nothing positive, and just plays into Hasbara's hands.
Both sides can be wrong at the same time, as here.
It doesn't really matter. Israel has pissed off enough people and has a large enough propaganda network that it will be able to dig up annoying people to present to you as its foils.
They will even tailor it to the audience. Sky News is a Murdoch operation with a conservative audience so they will focus on queers, Muslims, and climate activists. Something like MSNBC will blast Trump and Republicans (yes, really).
The best solution is to tune out their propaganda.
I mean, I hate the Israeli government with a passion, and have been to Palestine rallies previously, and even I find the current campus protests, and what happened in Malmö, to be both absurd and distasteful…
Which either means I’m getting old, or the Overton window has shifted on this issue…
For context, I refuse to even buy Max Brenner chocolates or Sodastream products, because of the IDF connections, but I still don’t find the current tactics of that movement to be either logical or appealing…
You should scrub all proof of your presence from those groups, because the feds will just turn the anti-zionist cause into a state-approved 'against white supremacy' movement soon.
But she's right this time.
