It isn't "enthusiasm" so much as just paying attention. The left used to talk about GWB being a war criminal but it was always just talk. For Trump, they are charging him with bogus crimes, illegally spying on his campaigns, slapping him with gag orders etc.

The establishment is terrified that they are losing control, because they absolutely are.
