Only about 25-30% of Republicans under 30 are pro-Israel as well. Leaked audio recording of an ADL meeting showed they were most worried about young people not supporting them more regardless of party/ideology.

The Israel lobby also doesn't want Israel to become a partisan issue. Having it get pulled into the gears of the Democrat/Republican divide will strengthen anti-Israel sentiment on the opposing party by yielding to it a party apparatus to operate with.
