I've seen hashtags be censored even on Musks twitter. Last June German twitter did the #stolzmonat instead of pride month(literally translates the same, focus was being proud of your country though). There were thousands of tweets and you had to use a 3rd party site to follow the trend, it was permanently in the top 3 for weeks, yet never appeared on twitter itself. They lie to you, nothing really changed.
Apparently it's an old trick to remove hashtags from trending. That's why the Stellar Blade hastag stopped trending.
But yeah, whoever is in the system as having removed Groomz blue checkmark is likely to be looking for a new job before the week is out.
