With so few good new titles being released these days, especially by major studios, I figured I'd make a thread for everyone to share your favourite classic or older games, especially if they're lesser-known titles that others might have missed at the time.
I'll open with The Saboteur (2009), Mercenaries (2005) and Saints Row 2 ( The 2008 original)
There's a couple that come to mind for me:
Klonoa, one of the first games I finished I think. Cutesie but fun.
Dark Cloud 2. I loved 1 and appreciate it but honestly 2 is just better and more focused. Story is also more fun. If you can find it there's undub romhacks, a lot better with Japanese voices.
Metal Gear 1-3, still some of my favorites and while I am at it throw Rising Revengeance on it. 4 is fun once but too many cutscenes honestly also really hard to play without a ps3 nowadays(emulation isn't fully there yet last I checked a couple months ago).
Chrono Trigger. The music, the gameplay, the world, the story. I honestly could gush over this game more than just once, it's amazing and probably one that everyone should have at least tried.
Zelda Majoras Mask. Personal preference but I prefer it to ocarina of time. Both 10/10 games but if I had to pick it would always be MM for me. The world just hooked me, the music has some of my favorites. Go play it! Probably played it 4-5 times.

So many good songs. I heard someone play a version of the 600 A.D. on a public piano. Learned it too because I liked it so much and it's easy for a semi-beginner.
