I'm glad I pretty much don't fly. Although you can't escape it; as someone else mentioned, everyone probably has someone they know who flies. And we all live under planes so, even if the chances are astronomically small, all this incompetence has still greatly increased the chances of planes colliding in midair over our heads. Again, it's still near-zero, but it's not as near to zero as it used to be.
Plus, it goes so far beyond planes. This is just one example, but it's everywhere.
