Prefix: This has NOTHING to do with the US elections or Trump directly, this is about the principle in general.
Have one of my friends in London (pray for them) recently chatting to me over some games, talking about how they recently got their voting ballots mailed to them. It's slim pickings to say the least but for one of the positions they only had the option of Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem, Greens snd Reform.
They're looking into the Reform candidate as they MASSIVELY went down in their opinion due to recent capitulations so they told me they'd spoil their ballot like last time when they only had 4 options and Reform wasn't even a choice than endorse ANY of these parties.
I personally think this is the right choice. Everyone SHOULD vote but if none of the candidates match up to your morality or standards, you should be given the right to put none of the above or straight up spoil your ballot in refusal to endorse. The UK ballots apparently don't have a 'none of the above' option even though it is perfectly legal to spoil your ballot and is in fact counted as a spoiled ballot on election day.
I'm just thinking back on how humiliated Haley was when she lost a primary to 'none of the above' and relating it to the poor voter turnout numbers of the UK and other Western countries. Imagine if all those didn't vote turned into refuse to endorse votes, might be enough to show how much the emperor is without clothes.
I have always spoiled my vote when it comes to crass whole scale political elections.
I don't think voting should be mandatory, like it is in Australia, but I think it is important and I think letting those putting themselves forward through the borked system know that I consider them a fool is the most important thing I can do.
Let the will of the people decide their fate and begone with this illusion of choice.
I should ask anyone who is in a mandatory voting area, do they provide a 'none of the above' option on the voting ballot as I have noticed them in places trying to force you to choose than let you know you can simply refuse.
Seems to be one of those things like Jury nullification that they DON'T want you knowing about.
People have accused me of being apathetic when it comes to a lot of issues but if you ever want to see me riled up and swearing vengeance against my own government introduce mandatory voting and conscription and see how fast I'd cause the government to fall lol. I would actually cause total chaos and with my logistics autism and knowledge along with tech ability I could definitely do it.
You have all this power, your country is fucked, but THAT is what would make you take action?
Because the normies would turn on me over anything else and treat me as a terrorist, it's a simple calculation, need more chaos and infighting and for things to get really bad unfortunately before people think "Yeah, maybe we should boot these politicians out finally".
I also have to weigh up frankly whether this country is even worth saving given the types of shit heads I've encountered in it, the country is nicknamed TERF island after all but quite a few of the 'men' are equally insufferable. There aren't that many Tommy Robinson types out there as the media like to pretend. I guess I am pretty apathetic, but it's pretty much because of what I've seen and how I've been treated in my childhood mainly. Not a boo hoo poor me situation by any means, but of course I never forgot it.
I'd sooner help people in America or New Zealand, Hungary than my own countrymen and trust me when Labour gets elected you're going to understand why. The lotus eaters are probably going to be doing good work documenting it.
