Star Wars is textbook, how to destroy someone’s culture 101. All it took was one bad movie to taint decades of love for the franchise.
Took one bad show ruin decades of prequel trilogy stuff people were coming around to respecting and openly praising (I get they aren’t perfect though)
Now it’s taken a series of garbage shows to completely ruin everything the core fans want and now all that’s left is a small chunk of worshipping consoomers who will leave if you don’t put a chick in it and make them gay.
My wife finally wanted to take the kids to Disney and for the first time in a while I was completely indifferent to seeing the Star Wars section. It’s supposedly based off the new films and…idk I can’t seem to enjoy it. My kids don’t even care for the new ones too and will probably just build lightsabers and leave
I'm sure it will be filled with girlbossing and barely disguised messages about how bad the white man is.
They've pigeonholed themselves. So bad is their previous content that the IP is now irrevocably tainted.
Ironically, this is something I would have checked out 10 years ago.
Now? Anything with a strong female character is an automaric write off.
They are unironically making people more prejudicial by "subverting expectations" instead of just saying what they're doing.
