I know we all get tired of meta posts, but this has been a complaint for ages.
Can we please simplify the rules and then enforce them equally and consistently? As is, we've had pretty sporadic enforcement, where bad stuff - porn, clearly bad faith trolling, and pedophilia advocation, to name a few recent standouts - have stayed up for around a week. Meanwhile, some much less offensive stuff, from established and active members, sometimes gets taken down immediately, which just stifles discussion. (And, no, I was not moderated, this isn't me bitching about something done to me.)
This isn't Reddit; we don't need these rules. We can simplify this all down to 'no porn, no advocating illegal activity, and if you're a handshake you don't have human rights.'
KiA2 happened because Antonio believed the will of the users on OG KiA, expressed through a vote, was being usurped by the mods. As such, I think this forum in particular should be open to voting on matters like the ones discussed in OP. This forum shouldn’t be run like a subreddit.
Let’s have a vote.
People have been bitching about how many unnecessary rules we've had since the very beginning, and the mods don't listen.
Pretty sad. As you say, the offshoot from KiA happened due to mod maleficence, and then the move over here happened because Reddit was forcing more bullshit on us. But then we just got stuck with a bunch of Reddit-tier nonsense regardless. Very frustrating.
How are mods picked? Do they apply? Are they elected?
Neither. Someone creates a new sub, then rules it forever, unless they step down, I believe.
C can probably assign them being an admin. KIA2 was one of the original subs (one that got a .win domain) that moved over, which is why I imagine he's a mod here.
