Disney made the Luke of my childhood the anti-hero, so after I heard what they did to him in the plot of TLJ, I refused to have any part of it when it came to theaters. To this day, I haven't seen any clips, and I refuse to even pirate it. I consider it unseen, just as Highlander fans do that abomination that is Highlander 2, the one with Mario Van Peeples in it, which I went to see in theaters, unfortunately.
they didn't just make Luke an anti hero. They made him a stupid loser that tried to kill his nephew just because he sensed dark side energy in him, abandons his duties to live in some random abandoned planet when everyone else is still fighting and throws away his light saber and he eventually dies by astroprojecting himself in to a battlefield(his real body didn't even die fighting) to buy time for others to escape, and then running out of energy
