They took a few jabs. "The American dream doesn't come in our color!"
Ironically the one with an all-Latinx cast, set on an island that is all their own, taking time to complain about the US, turns out to be the worst entry in the series by a mile.
Don't use their shitty terminology. "Latinx" is neither needed or even used by actual Latino groups as "Latino" is already the neutral form.
Literal cultural appropriators want to establish the Imperialism they decry about so often and force a shitty and clumsy "English language suffix" on the word by replacing the existing historical neutral suffix "-o" with "-x", most likely because as happens with many words in other languages the neutral suffix is the same as the masculine, therefore "reeeeee".
Additionally only 3% or so of Latinos even use the stupid term, that's how low the uptake is and it's quite probable this ends up being heavily skewed by high population areas like cities in particular states further obscuring facts. Any time you see "Latinx" being used in a publication you have a very good chance of the one writing it being a completely different ethnic group.
It doesn't convey well in text but I use the term in a derogatory sense against anyone dumb enough to prefer it. Adding X to your identity screams that you revel in victimhood, and are willing to water down your own heritage in order to feel sorry for yourself. It's a pretense of being a member of some exotic but crushed people, lost to the ages because of some unnamable wrong that's definitely not your fault so everyone everywhere should feel bad for you forever.
I do not hate Latins. All are different and respectable in their origins. The term denies them that.
One of the worst examples is downgrading Far Cry for not addressing “white supremacy” like they felt it should’ve
