Here's the reality: Censorship is inevitably a slippery slope. Something that looks small will become big in the future. That's how we ended up in such a shit situation to begin with.
There will always be opposition and people who sneer at anything which goes against the status quo, but we wouldn't even be having this conversation to begin with if autists didn't care about what was actually being translated or not.
I also took a look at that NicheGamer article and I don't see any issues with it (unless I'm missing something). The translators literally added in feminist terms and turns of phrase where there weren't any. Sega and Atlus are not in a position of good faith where something like that can be called an honest mistake.
