Nintendo has actually been innovative in successful ways, has kept their tech cheap, and their games, at times, FUN. Sony moved PlayStation HQ to America, where it went full politically-correct police on everything, ESPECIALLY the Japanese devs making cute girls doing cute things stuff. Microsoft never had that fun Japanese touch, period, and simply tried to buy up whatever they could to attempt monopolization.
Nintendo and PC (mostly Steam) is the future.
There really needs to be a book about Nintendo as a business. The problem is it will be named Nintendo and the Mob. Who wants to get their suicide note written for them because they started the book?
Meh, if the mob is what's keeping Nintendo cranking out quality products then I say it's fine to turn a blind eye to the mob because it's been a force for good.
It's all about slant. The mob loves stories about how the mob is cool and with the current trendy fashions and competent and skilled. And compared to the dangerhairs at Sony and the diversity hires of Xbox, they certainly are more competent and skilled.
Also, the fact that the limitations imposed by the Switch's hardware forces developers to be more judicious and smart with how to spend resources. Of course, at a certain point, too weak is too weak and the Switch is quite outdated now. However, the fact it could run games like Xenoblade 2 & 3, BOTW & TOTK, and Dragon Quest XI S is impressive.
From what the rumors suggest, the Switch 2 will have Xbox Series S-like performance with DLSS. Obviously still weak raw performance-wise, but the higher baseline will help a lot.
